North House | Gecko Ridge | Costa Rica

A majestic house layered on the edge of our hill. The building is divided in two perpendicular units that separate the living area and the main bedrooms. It creates a strong barrier from the North-East wind allowing the house to have a more private and protected outdoor living space in the backyard. The kitchen and living room are separated by a covered terrace that can be opened or closed by teak louvers panels as desired. The terrace's central position and transparency both increase the interaction between the living spaces, the great pool and the magnificent view. The overhanging roofs protect all the indoor spaces from the sun and the rain and permit natural crossed ventilation thanks to the louvers.
